A certified pre trained service dog is absolutely wonderful but expensive. If you all can afford it, by all means go get one as soon as you can. If you can't afford one, any dog can be certified. Your therapist should be able to help you with the paperwork. It's not hard and it should not be overwhelming.

I got mine for free from Craigslist. She's the most snuggly, smartest, most sensitive labradoodle there ever was. I also got an orange service dog vest off a website. My therapist signed a paper I printed out to get her registered. Not a big deal at all.

Now if I could just keep her from stealing my socks...
